Quotes:
" Any adult interested in creating safe spaces for LGBT youth needs to consider the impact of schooling on the social and psychological development for young people."
I found this quote to be quit interesting. I think it is interesting because it has a lot of truth to it. If anyone wants the youth to understand and learn about the LGBT community i don't think it would be a bad thing. By giving the youth knowledge of these things it gives them an opportunity to understand it better and be able to make their own choices about it. i don't think that you should focus on it primarily but you should give them some knowledge about it.
"Classrooms lay the foundation for an inclusive and safe society"
I found this quote to be very interesting because it is true. a classroom is supposed to be a safe place for the youth to learn about many things. not just the standard math English but about life skills and manors ect. One thing that should be on the list of things to learn about is the LGBT. it will provide them with knowledge so they can be lees judge mental and help give other people the knowledge.
"we are not arguing for an explicit discussion of sex in our classroom. but just a recognition of heterosexual romance themes can help students understand liberty passages, so can the recognition of same sex attraction."
I felt this quote was important because it helps the reader clearly understand what the passage is talking about. it clearly say they don't want sex to be the topic of conversation. but the topic to be about same sex attraction. which makes since. you want to let them know its okay to love someone of the same sex if you feel that way about them and that its okay to be friends or friendly with people whom love other people of the same sex.
